The Quilted Basket

All Day Workshops are five-six hours of classroom time.  All workshops listed below have a $10 pattern fee per student.  The sponsoring group will be billed for patterns by the number of attendees in workshop.

Paper Piecing: Beginning and Beyond

Have you always wanted to paper piece?  Have you tried to paper piece, but just need some help understanding the process?  In this class, you will start at the beginning and by the end of the day you will understand the many techniques used in paper piecing.  The possibilities are endless when you learn these techniques.  You will never chop off a point again.  Lots of inspiration will be shared in class.

Bountiful Baskets

Enjoy a day of stitching by hand this beautiful basket full of dimensional flowers.  Each flower will teach you a different dimensional technique includng:  ruched and yo-yo flowers.  No hand applique experience needed for this class as we will start class with some basic techniques.

Kaleidoscope Kapers

This traditional quilt will be lots of fun to create from your scrap basket.  Lots of tips and techniques will be shared to make your kaleidoscope do intertwining circles.  Many quilts will be shared as inspiration in class to keep you seeing fun designs every time you look at fabric from this point forward.

Scrap Busters

This great scrap quilt will not only put a dent in your stash, it will teach you how to piece accurate units using two of my favorite tools.  In class, you will learn basic techniques using tools and create a few blocks.  When you get back in your sewing room you can keep sewing to make the size quilt that fits your needs.  Tools required.

Pineapple passion

This fun log cabin variation has been made simple with a new techniques from England.  In class learn the technique while starting a scrap quilt.  Lots of creative ideas and projects will be shared so that you can create a pasion for the pineapple block.

 

Seminole Patchwork

Learn the basics of Seminole patchwork.  These simple sewing techniques will produce very complex looking quilt designs.  You can use samples sewn in class for a quilt, garment or home dec project.  Lots of inspiration will be shown.

Nanny Star

This scrap quilt is a great project to put a dent in your leftovers and stash.  While creating these wonderful star blocks, master several piecing techniques including half square and quarter square triangles units and flying geese.  Lots of tips and tricks for piecing perfection will be included during class.

Half day workshops are three classroom hours.  If you would like one of these as an all day workshop, that can be arranged.  Pick two different half day workshops to create your own all day event.  If you are hostin a retreat we can create something that will fit the structure of your event.

Scrap Happy
Have fun using up lots of scraps or "stash".  You will learn how to make accurate half square triangles while piecing this fun quilt.  This great pattern has been featured in Keepsake Quilting catalogue.

 

Make Mine "English"
English Paper Piecing is all the rage.  Learn the basics and beyond of this fun hand piecing technique.  Lots of inspiration and techniques will be shown.

Let's Twist
This technique is so fun, that you will be dreaming of your next "twisted" projects.  In class you will create a small project to teach the basic technique, and you will leave class with the knowledge of how to make dozens of creative quilt pieces.  Tool required.

Prairie Braids
This fun piecing technique is a great way to put a dent in your stash or use up your scraps.  This quilt is fun for any level of quilter.  Many variations will be shared in class.

Log Cabin Fun
One of the oldest and still best loved quilt blocks.  Learn basc techniques of creating lots of different log cabin quilts.  You won't believe how much fun you will have with this simple block once you know the secrets to successful piecing.  Tool required.

Happy Hexagons
Do you like Hexagons, but don't like hand work?  Let Ann show you two methods on how to piece this great shape on your sewing machine.
